The incident began around 5:41 a.m., Friday, Nov. 1, when the Mount Pleasant Police Department reported a missing elderly male who had not been heard from since 1 p.m. the previous day.

The Mount Pleasant Police immediately broadcasted over the Westchester County Hotline information about the missing man and the vehicle he was driving.

The WCPD entered the man's vehicle information into all databases in the event that his vehicle hit any location in Westchester County.

At 8:56 a.m. the Real-Time Crime Center received a hit of the man's vehicle and alerted all patrols via the hotline of his location and an all-points bulletin was issued.

At the time of the alert a member from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, who was on a “detail assignment” at the RTC, immediately called dispatch in Carmel to tell them that the man may be heading to Putnam County and advised them to put an alert out to all patrols in the area.

At 9:14 a.m., Sheriff’s Patrols located the elderly male and his vehicle on Main Street in the Village of Brewster.

A Brewster Fire Department Ambulance was dispatched to check on the man.

Mount Pleasant Police and the WCPC were notified that the man had been located and they contacted his family who responded to Brewster to bring him home.

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley, Jr. said with the technology used by the Real-Time Crime Center, in addition to having a deputy assigned there, the family was able to be reconnected with their loved one with a positive outcome.
